Actress Yoo In Na who received a love proposal from Ji Hyun Woo, had been filming as part of the 3rd season of MBC TV program “We Got Married”. Therefore, there have been speculations if she was keeping quiet about this surprise because of her image for the program.

In the beginning of the year before the MBC riot, Yoo In Na had decided to star in the third season of “We Got Married”. While plans were delayed for Yoo and Jang Gi Hwa due to the riot, Ji Hyun Woo made a surprise proposal to her at the closing event of the tvN drama “Queen In-hyun's Man”. Yoo In Na and all of the staff were shocked.

The situation is at loss even more as she was to star in “We Got Married” with younger man too. MBC Entertainment department told Sports Donga, “As the set-up is to be a man and a woman meeting for the first time and developing feelings for each other from there, Ji Hyun Woo’s confession could effect Yoo In Na’s appearance.”

Yoo In Na’s agency YG Entertainment isn’t saying anything in particular about this situation. However, many wonder what will happen to Yoo In Na as the program resumes on the 16th.

MBC Entertainment Department explained, “Yoo hasn’t said anything about this yet so we might have to see to it for a while. The riot isn’t over and the program will send out images of other existing couples so Yoo’s matter isn’t something to be decided on right now.”

Meanwhile, Ji Hyun Woo expressed his feelings for the first time in four days since the surprise confession on the 7th. He said, “Goodness! How worried everyone is. I am well and alive so stop worrying, I’m not going anywhere.” He continued, “I would do the same thing again if I was given the same situation. Also, there’s a saying that nothing good will happen to you by nosing into other people’s business so you all should stop doing that and let everyone be happy”, expressing that he didn’t regret what he did.

It appears that he isn’t in contact with his agency after what happened and this caused a wave of curiosity as to where he was.

JYJ’s Yoochun has the whole of Asia aroused.

While the SBS drama “Rooftop Prince” is spreading its virus all over the world, China is the craziest over it.

It hasn’t been that long ago since the drama was first aired in Korea, but there has already been a fan community set up in the Chinese portal site “Baidu” with a total number of 59,000 fans.

Yoochun’s personal fan community rates over 80,000 in fans and his popularity was proven once again when fan clubs in four of the major cities of China, Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Chungching held a birthday event for him.

In the major Chinese video site “Youku” there have been 77 million clicks for anything that has to do with “Rooftop Prince” and rated a review of 9.4. Comments have gone way over 110,000 and is currently running first place in all Korean dramas so far.

A drama related official said, “This is very surprising as it hasn’t even been shown in China yet. The teamwork between everyone was good and Yoochun’s multi-play as Lee Gak and Yong Tae-yong was perfect.”

Meanwhile, “Rooftop Prince” with Yoochun started off well with a percentage of 1.46% in Taiwan GTV which is the most any Korean drama has ever recorded and is being prepared to be sent over to Japan this coming July.

Following their collaboration single “A Night Like This” with Davichi, rookie duo group 2BiC has released their new single, “Promise You”.

“Promise You” was composed by 2BiC’s mentor, Cho Young Soo, and Ahn Young Min. This new love song expresses the sweet lyrics and is dedicated for brides and grooms to be.

On 29 May,  Park Yoochun (26), who was meeting us at a western restaurant in the Chungro district, Seoul, had arrived earlier than the scheduled time, but had been waiting in the car. The reason for this : No matter what, it is rude to appear before the scheduled time. During the interview, he maintained an earnest expression, and made a strong distinction between the times where he laughed and was serious.
To create a lighter atmosphere, I said, “If it’s more comfortable for you to speak in Joseon period speech, please feel free to do so,” and he replied, “Actually, when I am leaving a video message in front of the camera, I unconsciously start speaking in period drama terms.” He said, “Although I try very hard to avoid using speech from the period dramas, it seems to be having an reverse effect.” “Let time solve this issue.” His firm and earnest image is really similar to that of his SBS drama “Rooftop Prince” character, the Joseon dynasty’s Lee Gak. His occasionally unfocused look, and his eyes that seem to be trying to suppress a smile, are all similar to his drama character.
Park Yoochun has yet to break away from his drama role. “I feel that this drama and I are really compatible. It was easy to get into character, and it was even to a point where there was no burden in playing the role of Lee Gak. This is the first time I really managed to become the character when filming.”
His commitment to the drama has resulted in a great success. Park Yoochun plays the role of Joseon Crown Prince Lee Gak, the Lee Gak that travels into the future to uncover the truth behind the Crown Princess’s murder, as well as his reincarnation Yong Tae Yong, three different roles. It was not only the fans, but professionals have been praising him highly for his acting skills, and even his co-actors feel that “The singer Park Yoochun seems more of a stranger.”
When asked about his secret of getting into character, he said, “It’s because I enjoyed it. Although this answer sounds a bit ludicrous, but there is no other way to explain it. “ “The first time I flipped this script open, I did not stop reading until even past the 2nd and 3rd episodes. It was really great. After shooting started, I didn’t want to miss a single scene so I read the script countless times.”
Proof of this was revealed via a photo of Park Yoochun holding his script that was uploaded onto an online BBS in April.  A fan-taken photo showed that Park Yoochun’s script was obviously weathered due to countless readings. Now that he has found the joys of acting, he has learnt to enjoy the shooting process. This is something that he did not experience in MBC’s “Miss Ripley.”
During the “Miss Ripley” shoot, I was working more seriously than anyone, and was really suffering due to the mentality of having to force myself to do even better. The burden made it hard for me to express myself freely. However, with the filming of “Rooftop Prince,” I really liked the role, and didn’t force myself to grapple with those feelings, and tears flowed naturally during the sad scenes.
If you say that in “Miss Ripley” he was the “hard worker” then in “Rooftop Prince” he is the “one who enjoyed it”.
He maintained this earnest attitude throughout the entire interview, and when asked a light question, “You seem to be really compatible with co-star Han Jimin, even in real life. What do you think about this?” Park Yoochun replied, “Lee Gak loves Park Ha (played by Han Jimin), not Han Jimin,” giving a logical conclusion to this. He then pleaded with us “I hope that you don’t write this in a way that causes Jimin noona to misunderstand” with an earnest face, that makes it hard for us not to comply. This image is the essence of the “comedic aspects” to Lee Gak.

September 1st, 2011. 7:29pm. DJ Peacemaker:
“I told you I was gonna play it, for the ‘k-pop lovers’, directly from Korea, they are BIG BANG. I keep my word.”
When the radio station HOT 102.5 debuted the song ‘Tonight’ of boy group BIG BANG, many Puertoricans jumped from happiness.
The evidence is a video that was uploaded unto YouTube where “PR Also Loves K-pop” group members recorded their reactions when they heard their favorite group.

It would’ve been nothing out of the ordinary, except for the fact that this catchy song was sung in Korean and in English, and the fact that it was an Asian group.
“Yes, we’re are playing K-pop” confirms Luiz Vélez, Program Director of the radio station, who pleased “numerous” petitions he received from fans through the radio station’s SNS sites.
[The station] first played “Tonight” and then “Blue”, both from BIG BANG.
“‘Tonight’ was a version in English with Korean parts” explains Vélez. [T/N: I’m guessing he meant it had English parts, but the reporter misunderstood]...
“The sound is very similar to the 90’s music, when there were groups such as the Backstreet Boys. They mix styles, the old with the new, they have a lot of dances and many group members.”
Aside from the public’s petitions, they check music websites, and obviously, YouTube.

Kirstie Morales who is part of the group “Puerto Rico Also Loves K-pop”, which keeps gaining followers on SNS sites.
How and where did they find out about K-POP if they don’t know the language and South Korea is not exactly close?
“On the internet, looking for Anime”, answeres Morales in reference to the videos of Japanese animation.
Gathered at the Korean-Mexican establishment Tako, located in Hato Rey, they number the reasons why they have fallen at the feet of K-pop.
“Sometimes I get asked ’but you don’t understand them’ so I say ‘Do you understand Lady Gaga?’. There’s people who sing in English without knowing what they are saying,” points Valerie Enid Salgado, and adds, that they look for the lyrics online and they find version in English and even in Spanish.
Michael Carrasquillo, 17, also started enjoying anime series on the internet and when his aunt began watching Korean TV series on channel 6, he would download the music on the computer.
“I liked it, and I kept looking for information. There’s a lot of diversity, boy groups, girl groups, groups with both girls and boys, they play from heavy rock to ballads, although pop is the only thing playing here. They have an American sound, but it’s totally different in their lyrics, because it’s much more respectful.”
Naomi Rivera, 18, started to be familiar with anime since she was 8 years-old and in 2006, after watching Taiwanese and Japanese series, she stumbled upon one [series] that interested her for the music.

“That’s where I started and I love it”, admits Rivera. “The most famous girl group is Girls Generation, they were even on The David Letterman show. There’s also Super Junior, Beast, who had a concert in Brazil, and 2WY (sic), who where in Chile and Peru. That’s the ‘hallyu wave’, the wave of Korean music around the world”
South Korea’s moment.Using catchy phases in English, the songs spread in a viral way. The avant-garde image of their icons, with extreme haircuts, colored hair and ultramodern clothing, makes then the ideal spokespeople for advertising campaigns.
“Before, the wave of Asian music, movies, series and fashion was sent and controlled by Japan. Now it’s South Korea’s turn, we generated it.”, summarized  Cho Hyo Jin, marketing manager of the channel Tooniverse, about their strategy of promoting their products outside of Asia.
In Puerto Rico, the internet is still making this music accessible which more and more young people keep in their iPods.
“What I like is being able to meet more people through K-POP” says Keishla Quiles, founder of the group “PR Also Loves K-pop” on Facebook, which has more than  1,200 members and have done gatherings in which they meet each other and do talent shows with the music from their favorite groups.
“We have made many friends, we have shared our love for the groups and we have spread K-POP around the island. One radio station is already playing it, now what we want is that they come to Puerto Rico and sing here.” concludes Quiles who is very sure they can do it.
The JargonK-pop: Abbreviation of  “Korean pop” or “Korean pop music”. A South Korean wave that groups young bands and solo artists with dance, electropop, hip hop, rock and r&b music. It has become a subculture for the youth with a particular interest in the fashion and the image projected by these groups.
Hallyu Wave: Refers to the growing popularity of K-POP and Doramas (Korean soap operas) around the world. While K-POP has it’s origins in the mid 90’, the term ‘Hallyu’ was coined in 1999. Its importance has been considered by the South Korean government because of its cultural influence and, above all, for its input on their economy. Last year, the ‘Hallyu wave’ brought $ 3.8 billions to the country’s economy.

While “Rooftop Prince” was being broadcast, Lee Tae Sung would often demonstrate his close friendship with Park Yoochun through Twitter. To Yoochun, who had suffered the loss of his father in the earlier stages of filming, Lee Tae Sung had sent a message full of genuine care, “Although you are doing very well now, just be a son that your father would be proud of. Don’t say such heartbreaking things. You just experienced it earlier than others would. Press on.” Naturally, it makes people wonder how Park Yoochun is like in his eyes, as a colleague.
“Before the filming, I had my doubts as to whether Park Yoochun, who had started off as an idol, would be able to take on the role of Lee Gak well. So I think the way I looked at Yoochun was influenced by these social perceptions. Although he has quite little experience with filming productions as an actor, if you were to look past that, he is really very hardworking. Despite the tight filming schedule where we did not even have time to sleep, he was still able to familiarize himself perfectly with the script. He had to deal with some tough situations while filming, and in the latter half his physical condition got worse and worse, but he was still able to take on what is equivalent to 3 different roles, right up till the end. He is a good actor.

The new commercial of JYJ, who are active as the models for headache medication Penzal Q, has become a topic of discussion online.
The concept for the new Penzal Q commercial, which will begin airing in June, is a scene where a female fan is heard saying, “My head hurts”, amidst a JYJ concert, to which member Kim Jaejoong asks the audience in the stands, “Does anyone have headache medication?” Another female fan then shouts, “If it’s headache medication, it’s Penzal Q”. The CF later follows with Kim Junsu saying, “Penzal Q, thank you.”
Upon seeing this advertisement, netizens expressed, “The funniest among all the commercials filmed by idols”, “I’m so embarrassed I can’t even watch it”, “Commercial with an odd concept, yet it’s strangely addictive”, and “A commercial I want to see often”, among other responses.
Although there are mixed responses about the concept of the commercial, the CM song has gone viral. The lyrics which go “Whatever pain, whatever sadness, forget them all” are included in the song, which suits the concept of the CF perfectly. Jong Geun Dang distributed this song for free via its official homepage and Facebook page at the end of last year.

Hwayobi will be releasing a new mini-album this June, with the pre-release digital single having been released on June 11th, titled “I'm Living Like This", via the major online music sites.

The singer had wrote the lyrics, melody, and produced the track herself. It’s about a woman who’s having trouble accepting a breakup, though it has indeed happened. The lyrics are being noted for it’s short-drama-like style.
