UEE is proudly showing her award from recently held Baeksang Awards ceremony.
Here's a group photo of other awardees.

Baeksang Award: This springtime award show has the distinction of honoring both film and television, sort of like the Golden Globes, and has been running for nearly half a century, since 1965.

Since it’s not a broadcast station award (where you have a broadcaster giving awards to its own shows) but awards across stations, winning a Baeksang carries a bit more weight than those year-enders.

Q: Do you have any principles you go by when wearing suits, or any styles that you like?
A: I like suits that are fitting. Today’s suit is slightly different, but it is not bad as well. The shooting process was very interesting.

Q: Which is your favourite among the sets of clothing today?
A: I like the suit that appears a bit faded. The set with short sleeves and the hat was also not bad. Ah, what was that thing called again?

Q: It’s called suspenders. Simply put, it’s overalls?
A: Yes, a staff said earlier on, “These are overalls?”. I said, “Don’t go around saying that.” (laughs)

Q: Do you still feel shy when people give you compliments such as, “You really look very good” and “You are really handsome”? Even just now, you kept saying, “Who am I (to be considered good looking)?” and “No, no”. Should you not have gotten used to it since you hear it so often?
A: Since I was young, my father seldom praised me. Awhile back, when I was drinking with my father, he suddenly said, “I did not praise you much when you were young, sorry.” Because of this, I feel embarrassed every time I hear such compliments.

Q: Have you ever seen yourself as good looking?
A: It would be a lie if I said no right? Rather than being good looking, I think I am not bad looking?

Q: When mentioning Changmin, the thing that people most commonly say is “He is the only person who is unaware of the singing abilities he has.” What do you think about this?
A: Yes, I am rather strict with myself.

Q: It has been almost 10 years since your début?
A: I used to be have a “model trainee” complex, thinking that I should never allow others to see any negative sides of me. In the past, I would be very conscious of the words I used during interviews, and I would talk about morals and beliefs. Now, even under the packaging by others, I still want to show a true kind side of myself. Working hard blindly, but ending up closing yourself off will just create a lot of stress. I do not like telling people, “I am this kind of person.” I would rather not have people have false expectations of me simply because I say something which sounds good. I do not wish to be seen that way, I would be more comfortable if things were not that way. Nowadays when I make mistakes, I will think, “Ah, it’s okay, I can actually do better than this. It is not as if I didn’t work hard… ” Rather than saying that I am confident in my own abilities, I guess it can be said that I started to believe in my own efforts to some extent. During these two to three months, during the 20-odd concerts we have had while on tour in Japan, there has not been a single time when I have been stressed out or upset because of a mistake I made. Every time, every moment when I made a mistake was interesting. It surprised me as well.

Q: But those mistakes are not as big mistakes as we think right?
A: When we were in Hong Kong for a performance a while ago, I lost my voice. If it was in the past, I would have went “Argghhhh” and gotten stressed up, and it would show on my face. 2 weeks before that, some things had happened at home so my body was in a bad condition, when I tried singing before we went on stage, my voice could not come out. (So I thought to myself) “Ah, it seems like something is going wrong today,” and asked the manager for a preventive shot.

Q: When things are hard, how do you make yourself feel better?
A: By drinking. I drank a little today as well.

Q: You are strict with yourself, but it seems drinking is an exception? But drinking does not affect your state of mind right?
A: Oh, it does. Because of the sudden changes to the body and physiological changes. I do not cause any inconvenience to other people at all though.

Q: Who do you drink with?
A: It is difficult to meet up frequently with friends from the company, so I often drink alone at home or with my manager.

Q: Are you not afraid of getting a beer belly?
A: It is true that a beer belly may appear, but I think it is all right as long as you drink in moderation.

Q: Do you go to places like bars to drink?
A: I sometimes go to beer pubs.

Q: Are you not afraid of being recognised by people?
A: If someone recognises me, I greet them. Then I just drink without letting it bother me, and without worrying about what happens outside the shop.

Q: Beer aside, what is the biggest gift you have given yourself?
A: I do not seem to have given myself any big gifts. I am the type who distinguishes between something that I want to buy on impulse, and something that I would use for a long time.

Q: I am reminded of the Confucian sayings which were written on your arm during the filming just now. It is just like Confucian teachings.
A: There is a car which catches my eye, but right now I do not particularly feel the need to change my car now. It was a car given as a gift by the company. It is not like I do not have one, and it is something still working well, so I do not think there is a pressing need to get a new one.

Q: When was the time when you remember spending the largest amount of money?
A: The monetary wedding gift I gave three to four years ago to our manager, who has suffered a lot. Although the definition of what a large amount and small amount is varies from person to person, but for me that is the time when I recall spending the most.

Q: Looking at recent news, they say that you are the no. 1 4th-dimensional artist. Why is this so?
A: Among the fans, there are these sayings (about me), such as “The high-schooler has returned.” and “Is this guy crazy?” Shinhwa’s Dongwan-hyung has a famous quote, saying “Shinhwa cannot possibly take responsibility for everyone’s life.” And this is exactly how I feel. I do not sugar-coat my words, and I refuse to be the influence of these children. I do not have the power to be responsible for them. The “me” that you see is a result of packaging (laughs). This is not to say that I do not care about everyone, it is just that I do not wish for people to waste their time on meaningless things, which is why I say such words.

Q: You are appearing in Director Izutsu Kazuyuki’s “Soar with the Gold,” filming together with Asano Tadanobu and Tsumabuki Satoshi. Is it because of TVXQ that you are able to appear in this movie?
A: It is a little embarrassing for me to say this myself, but the director said that when he was looking at the shortlist, he felt that I could pull off the idol look, or exude a more fresh-faced image. I don’t even know if this is a good or bad thing (laughs). I asked him, “Is this a compliment?” and the reply was, “Hmm..not necessarily..”

Q: Working with Asano Tadanobu and Tsumabuki Satoshi, were you afraid?
A: Yes. It wasn’t to the extent of fear, but due to the language barrier, it was really difficult and there was a lot of pressure. I haven’t reached the level where I can live just by speaking Japanese, and the co-stars were speaking in dialect, and I had to react quickly, so that was hard to adapt to. I’m also not very familiar with the everyday terms that is used by the Japanese. For example, in convenience stores in Japan, they sell alcohol in transparent cups. It is cheap and convenient and an alcohol that anyone can drink, but when the other party recommended it to me, he called it “nitroglycerin”. I just took the word in its literal sense, so the impression I got was that of an “explosion”. No matter how you look at it, isn’t the equivalent of explosives nitroglycerin? Due to various factors, such as knowing that right before filming started, it made me nervous, even though I knew what the director wanted, and what the character was supposed to be like. I was nervous because although in my head I knew (what was required of me), I was afraid I would not be able to translate it into actions, and thus not be able to do it properly. That was the most stressful for me.

Q: Having to (film) concurrently with the ongoing of the tour must have been quite hard?
A: The role I play in the movie is one who is isolated by the world, and has also isolated himself from the world. Then the very next day after filming, I am required to become the performer who performs happily in a venue which can hold an audience of 550,000. This way, it is not easy for me to immerse myself in the movie. It was also challenging physically. Thus, when thinking about how (the movie) was a really good production with a really good director and cast, it made me think, “Ah, this is really frustrating.” I have learnt many things and it has been very rewarding, yet as much as I do not want to admit it, there are regrets. What is it that I feel regretful about? I learnt a lot. The feeling of inadequacy which I felt made it a valuable experience.

Q: So if that movie were to be filmed again, would you film it?
A: There is a culture in Japan for bouquets to be given to actors and actresses after filming has been completed, in recognition of their hard work. When the bouquets were passed around, the (cameraman) filming the making clip asked, “How do you feel now that filming has ended?” While glancing at the director, I replied, “If I had known earlier on that this was such a tough job, I would not have done it.” (laughs)

Q: In fact, your acting in “Paradise Ranch” was rather well done right? Did you not feel regrets such as “I did not get the recognition I deserved for my efforts,” because the viewership ratings were low and there wasn’t that much interest?
A: As it was my first time (acting), I did hope that things could have gone better, but it was not to the extent where I felt that it was a failure. Anyway, I was not criticised too harshly since it was my first attempt at acting. (laughs)

Q: You feel strongly about not wanting to be criticised no matter what it is you are doing?
A: Yes, I don’t really like that. I also do not want to be seen as someone who does not take things seriously. I really dislike that.

Q: Have you ever heard people says things about you “not taking things seriously”?
A: Yes, I have heard it a lot. When we first made our debut, (they said) I could not dance. To be honest, I have never dreamt of becoming an expert in dance or anything of that sort, and even now I do not have such hopes. If I say things like this, will the company not like it? Anyway, I do not like hearing things like “He can’t make it.”

Q: Before becoming an artist, have you ever been such a fan of someone that you did things like putting his/her poster up on the wall, or collecting his/her photos?
A: Nope, I had to play games with my friends, and go play soccer, I had many things to do. Haha.

Q: If you were born again, would you still be TVXQ? If the same opportunity were to arise?
A: To be honest, till awhile ago, I thought that I would like to live an ordinary life. Rather than saying I dislike this life, it is more like having experienced this once already, I would like to try living a different life. I am really enjoying work recently. Dancing and singing. Right now, in my heart, I think I would do this again.

Q: What are the inconveniences of living as a celebrity? Is it bearable?
A: Recently there aren’t that many fans (laughs). Just kidding. In the early stages of our debut, it really bothered me. No matter what, it was not my dream, and I was doing a job I could not even have imagined. “Ah, this is not a job that I want, so why am I here and getting all stressed out?” I blamed myself a lot. But now I really enjoy it.

Q: What makes you enjoy it so much?
A: Working like this, singing, learning to play the guitar, going overseas. If it were not for this job, how would I have accumulated hundreds of thousands of mileage? (laughs) And we seem to be living pretty good lives.

Q: We saw a photo of you buying a book at the airport. Did you finish reading Steve Jobs’ biography?
A: Ah, because I bought a book with more than 900 pages (laughs), I have read about two-thirds of it.

Q: And if you were to pick something from that which left the deepest impression?
A: Usually, when books are written about people who have passed on, they usually speak of that person’s achievements or good points, but this book was not like this at all. “Ah, what’s wrong with this person? Does he have a split personality? Why is his family history like this?” Unexpectedly, I think it was because it covered these bad points, that made it interesting. Steve Jobs’ train of thought itself is very different from ordinary people. He looks at things from a different angle, and he is very observant. It may seem like an obvious choice, but the line “Stay hungry, stay foolish” really left an impression. This world was created by crazy men.

Q: If a book were to be written about Changmin-ssi, what do you think the first line should be?
A: I would like for something crude sounding to be included. Is it ok if I say things like this? “He really lived magnificently like a dog.” Haha. I think that would be good.

Q: Have you really lived “magnificently”?
A: First off, I think that for me to have been born as the son of a Korean teacher was a mistake in itself (laughs). It is not easy.

Q: Do you think it would be alright for you to live even more “magnificently” in the future?
A: Gee, of course. I would like that.

Actress Shin Se Kyung dressed in groundbreaking clothing, interpreting a complete different feel with model who dressed in the same fashion.

In episode 11 of SBS Monday and Tuesday drama “Fashion King” aired on April 23rd, 2012, Shin Se Kyung is wearing a heart-shaped low cut white dress.

In the plot of the episode, Kang Young Gul (played by Yoo Ah In) gives the one and only dress in the world that was personally designed by him to Ga Young (played by Shin Se Kyung) as gift. The dress is exceptional and bold, the exposure is almost the standard of “19+ rating,” and the style of Shin Se Kyung is also considered as perfect interpretation of charm of pureness and sexiness.

But in fact, the original design style of the cloth was not the case. When the model wore this fashion and appeared on the runway, her chest was relatively flat and did not reflect the sexy body shape.

The straight feel of the model is very different from the style wore by Shin Se Kyung. But, the superior body of Shin Se Kyung shows off the sexiness which the cloth originally didn’t possessed.

EPISODE 383. Broadcast on April 22, 2012.

javabeans: So the boys wrap up their feasts and punishments, with the latter group coming back after a long, muddy day of digging for shellfish. Only to hear that they have more WORK to do, because they’re putting on a show for the residents. The PD describes it as “a simple dinner show,” which brings to mind images of singing waiters in tuxedos. Or maybe a few magic tricks with the guests in black tie, like in The King, only without the wild-eyed Rumplestiltzkin.

girlfriday: And with pants.

javabeans: Yes. Because even villainous masterminds don’t get to claim evil street cred when they’re running around in public in their boxers.

girlfriday: Dunno what you mean.

javabeans: The boys split up, with one team heading out to buy some food for the dinner. As Tae-hyun, Joo-won, and Tae-woong head out in the bus, they wonder what to do for the dinner show.

girlfriday: I love that this trio has bonded since the race earlier that day. Tae-hyun searches for songs that are more appropriate for older crowds, and right away Joo-won sings along, knowing all the lyrics.

javabeans: Do you love how their reaction is, “Oh, you know this song?” I’m trying to think of a comparison… like a 1995 baby singing along to Duran Duran?

girlfriday: But knowing trot is even more disparate than just knowing pop songs from a previous generation.

javabeans: I wonder if trot is so out it’s in again. Is that what all the Korean hipsters listen to for cool points? That would be hilarious.

girlfriday: It doesn’t count if it’s ironic.

javabeans: Haha, I was just wondering when Korea would get to the irony-for-irony’s sake point. Is that when you know you’ve officially become a first-world nation? When your children are running around being contrary just because it’s cool?

girlfriday: When your biggest problem is the hipsterization of everything? Yeah, pretty much.

javabeans: When people ask if you’re [some negative condition, like sad or angry or unshowered], and your answer is, “No, I’m just a hipster”?

girlfriday: Call me unhip, but people should shower.

javabeans: People should also be okay with unqualified cheerfulness. I know that’s strange coming from the Old Grouch, but hey, I get the principle of it. Heh, I love the synchronized head-shakes as both Joo-won and Tae-hyun sing along.

girlfriday: Joo-won must actually love this song unironically, because Tae-woong calls it his 18, aka his favorite song to belt out at noraebangs and stuff. And now I’m just picturing Joo-won and Tae-woong hanging out at noraebangs and being a couple of dorks.

javabeans: Aw, so have they already had their extracurricular bonding sessions? That’s so cute.

girlfriday: Maybe their movie went out on crew drinking parties or something. Plus he seems super friendly with both the Uhm siblings.

javabeans: Oh, right, I forgot their cop movie. Heh. Back at basecamp, the others start preparing food and ask Food Truck Ajumma how it feels to be in her hometown. She answers, “It’s awesome!” Hee. They find out that Food Truck Ajusshi is also from here, and ask if they dated while they were still living here. Aw, he’s all shy and nods yes.

girlfriday: Then they break up into pairs to walk around the town and invite people to the party, and why is Shi-kyung holding Su-geun’s wrist? Just for adorable points?

javabeans: My heart is warmed. They run across people and remind them to come to the dinner, and a five-year-old boy seems to recognize them, so Su-geun asks where he’s seen him, and if he knows who he is. The boy answers, “Lee Seung-gi!” Hahaha.

girlfriday: Ha. Close enough. The market crew picks up food and a whole bunch of makgulli, and suddenly I want to be invited to this party.

javabeans: That makgulli looks damn good. Not like the thin stuff you buy at the supermarket. The basecamp team goes ahead and gets started, greeting the village residents and giving them a “great bow,” aka the kind where your whole body lowers and your head touches the ground. Aw, it’s sweet that some residents give a similar bow back, though they don’t have to since they’re the elders in this situation. They pull out the eldest villager, age 81, for special recognition.

girlfriday: Shi-kyung sings, and then they introduce a surprise guest, singer Kang Jin, who they brought entirely because his name is the same as the name of this town. Ha.

javabeans: I approve this pun. Lol, he gets a bigger reaction than the cast. This really is trot night.

girlfriday: Omg, Joo-won, why so cute? It’s his turn to sing, and he totally belts it out.

javabeans: With hip-swivel and all. I’m starting to think Joo-won just loves trot. And those pipes were used to the musical stage, weren’t they?

girlfriday: You think he’s going to be totally shy, but then he starts singing and dancing and clearly this kid’s a performer.

javabeans: Then Tae-hyun comes out wearing a mask, which I guess is a nod to his movie Highway Star, where he played a singer, but I just keep thinking Nacho Libre. He sings a song, and behind him Su-geun and Jong-min hold hands and start dancing.

girlfriday: I know, the whole time I’m like, why is Nacho Libre singing a ballad?

javabeans: This cast has a lot of singers, when you consider that Tae-hyun and Tae-woong and Joo-won aren’t primarily singers; it sure comes in handy for events like this. Although, I sort of have it in my mind as Shi-kyung being the resident singer workhorse, where he’ll just show up places and be told to sing for entertainment while everyone else is doing other stuff.

girlfriday: Yeah everyone else is some qualified version, like actor-singer, dancer-singer, but Shi-kyung’s the singer-singer.

javabeans: And I still have the image in my mind from last episode—same trip—where he got left behind and ended up having a mini-concert, just randomly.

girlfriday: They finish up the party with a big group picture, and then it’s back to basecamp for sleeping games. With no warning, Bird PD just turns on music, and the boys stare in confusion, until they finally figure out that this is some kind of game.

javabeans: Ha, I love that they lulled them into a false sense of security, because the PD had told them earlier that they wouldn’t have sleep bokbulbok. Why, ‘cause they’re ALL sleeping outside? I love their confusion, because even though they know it’s a game, they’re like, WHAT is the game? They follow the lyrics, which occasionally tell them to stop. Then the last time, PD calls out, “THREE!” And Shi-kyung is left out of the group as everyone else grabs for each other.

girlfriday: They get told that this was the game to determine teams. But what about Shi-kyung?

javabeans: The two teams of three will play a game of rock-scissors-paper, and the winner gets to choose whether to take or leave Shi-kyung.

girlfriday: Aw, poor Shi-kyung. Su-geun’s team wins and decides not to take him, so he joins the other team. I like that they have to make the choice not knowing whether having an extra member is a good thing or a bad thing.

javabeans: Yes. They decide that since there are three cans of oxygen spray on the blankets, they’re better off with three people. But you never know…

girlfriday: The game will be an elephant nose olympics of sorts, and the oxygen sprays are there in case they get dizzy. Hee.

javabeans: Pwahaha. They’re all, “Did we make the wrong choice?!” Tae-hyun says that since it’s 4 versus 3, one of them has to twirl (with the elephant nose of dizziness) one extra turn. “We’re going to end up using them all!” Muahaha. The captions given to Shi-kyung basically all say some form of “Neener neener.”

girlfriday: I love it when the winners lose. Round 1. Two members from each team are called forward, and one is given a permanent marker. Pfft. I already like where this is going. They both have to twirl ten times, and then the guy with the marker has to draw a dot on his partner’s forehead.

javabeans: Tae-hyun will be the canvas for his team, with Tae-woong twirling and dotting. They do a simulation round, and Tae-woong goes at him with the marker like it’s a freaking dart out to kill something. Tae-hyun’s actually shocked, and he’s all, “You can’t hit me that hard!”

girlfriday: The PDs draw a bullseye on Tae-hyun’s forehead (even better) and then they twirl…

javabeans: Omg, are you dying? I’m dying. It’s like something out of a cartoon, with both guys struggling to stay upright, like drunk sailors in the middle of a hurricane.

girlfriday: Hahahaha. Tae-woong looks like a drunk bird, all flappy wings and wobbly legs. He finally GRABS Tae-hyun by the hair to make contact. This is awesome.

javabeans: Everyone’s in stitches. They log 28 seconds for the whole shebang, and then it’s the other team’s turn. Joo-won will twirl, and Shi-kyung will get his forehead dotted. He says he’ll just kneel, so it’s Joo-won’s job to find him. I love how bloodthirsty Seung-woo gets in these competitions; he tells Joo-won just to go straight at him, holding the marker like a knife.

girlfriday: Ha. So they twirl, and they end up pretty far apart, but Shi-kyung’s strategy of kneeling right away works, because Joo-won beelines right for him, and they manage to beat the other team by ten seconds.

javabeans: But then Tae-hyun argues that Shi-kyung only twirled 9 times (he was counting), and goes to the camera for an instant replay. They watched… and Shi-kyung actually twirled 11 times. Haha. Tae-hyun’s all, “Man, that thing really is accurate.” OH, really? You think?

girlfriday: Round 2 is the elephant-nose high-five. Seung-woo and Jong-min step up for their team and Seung-woo worries about dizziness, so Jong-min demonstrates his resilience (as a gymnast, ha) by doing ballet twirls… and then getting dizzy. HA.

javabeans: He’s actually really good at the spinny part, just not the coming out of the spin part. Seung-woo is, as predicted, super slow, and when Jong-min finishes his 10 twirls he looks around for a hand to high-five, and ends up swatting at air while Seung-woo’s still going. It’s hilarious.

girlfriday: And then Seung-woo does the same, and then they finally find each other… and jump up for the high-five… and get nothing but air. HAHAHAHAHA.

javabeans: Omg, dying. It’s extra hilarious because they both swat with BOTH hands, and they’re both doing it AS they’re falling.

girlfriday: It’s the best thing ever.

javabeans: Rewinds, replays.

girlfriday: It’s so funny that Tae-hyun actually throws a fit about having to go after them, like how could you possibly follow that act?

javabeans: Su-geun is up for his team, and he’s aware of his weakness in this game so he asks Tae-hyun to follow him ‘cause he has a tendency to travel. Then he falls over on his second turn, and actually is so embarrassed he asks for a do-over, all while Tae-hyun keeps spinning. Then since Su-geun has literally stopped the game, they tap Tae-hyun to stop, and he’s all, “Is it time already? HI FIVE!”

girlfriday: And then they make him spin all over again! That’s mean. Su-geun really does travel like he said, and he ends up falling all over the crew. Tae-hyun stumbles over, and they high-five about three times, because they can’t manage to make that smacking sound.

javabeans: Ha, and then after he’s done he heads for the oxygen. The other team says they didn’t satisfy the sound requirement (Lol), while they argue that they did. So Seung-woo generously offers them another go—why not, right? It (1) took them 52 seconds that first time, and (2) they’re already dizzy. Hehe. This time they manage 21 seconds, which is a lot better, while Seung-woo points out that they were lucky to both fall over in the same place.

girlfriday: Round 3. Elephant-nose hackey sack. Do you think the writers just sit in a room and think, what can we come up with to make the boys look like idiots?

javabeans: HAHAHA. I wonder if even the producers overestimated this game by a long shot. Tae-woong’s all, “I can’t do this normally!

girlfriday: Joo-won goes first, and Tae-hyun is in super-petty mode, deciding that the wings on his sneakers are an unfair advantage. Hee.

javabeans: It’s hysterical because Tae-hyun is both super competitive and lazy. And also: Why does Joo-won wear winged sneakers like a 5-year-old??

girlfriday: Because he’s five? Joo-won spins and spins and then tosses the jaegi in the air… and OMIGOD I’m dying… he does this flying air kick that lands him flat on his ass with zero contact. Tae-hyun dies laughing so hard, and grabs Joo-won’s face, like in laugh-adoration.

javabeans: I think Tae-woong’s is even more hilarious, because he does exactly the same thing, but you can tell that he’s trying SO HARD to kick straight, and he still falls on his ass. This means both boys have to try again, and Bird PD disallows substituting members so Shi-kyung can’t take over.

girlfriday: So Joo-won has to go again… and does the same exact thing. Pffft. I think Tae-hyun has a new love, and it’s Joo-won’s gag comedy. He has another giggle fit and the caption calls him a “Joo-won-holic.” I think he’s crying.

javabeans: Tae-woong is up for his re-do, and does a bunch of test attempts, simulating dizziness. Ha, I’m pretty sure that doesn’t work. But he gets the tip to toss the jaegi in the direction of his fall (spinning left means you stagger left)… and it works! You can see him come out of his spin and concentrate REALLY HARD to drop the jaegi into his kick, and manages contact!

girlfriday: Did Tae-woong just succeed at doing something with his feet?

javabeans: I think he’s been secretly practicing. Seung-woo praises Tae-woong’s powers of concentration. Even they could see it.

girlfriday: Su-geun offers the other team a chance to reverse the results, and they let Shi-kyung try to beat Tae-woong’s record. He can only get in one kick though.

javabeans: Aw, he almost made the second one just by virtue of his long legs. Seung-woo quips that it’s like watching a building collapse.

girlfriday: They offer the same chance to anyone else, and Jong-min steps up to say he can do it. Su-geun says they’ll reduce it to one kick if he spins 12 times, and Jong-min’s like hey, I’ll do 15. And then Tae-woong’s like, how about 20? Jong-min’s like, Sure! Hahaha. Two things I’m learning from this exchange — Jong-min is really confident in his former-gymnastic abilities, and never take Jong-min to an auction. He might end up buying an island.

javabeans: Seung-woo steps in to be all, “Whoa now, buddy. Cool it.” I think they should’ve gone the other way, since Jong-min’s actually really good at hackeysack — 10 spins, but two kicks. But in any case, he starts staggering around at about 15, and by the time he’s at 20 he can barely stand. He aims the jaegi for his foot, and totally misses. Ha! I think Tae-hyun might pee himself, he’s laughing so hard.

girlfriday: It cracks me up how hard he threw that thing, like a projectile missile.

javabeans: Round 4: Elephant-nose whack-a-mole? I love this. You have to twirl, then grap those plastic hammers and be first to whack your opponent on the head. This is Tae-hyun versus Seung-woo, which should be hilarious. Seung-woo is so bloodthirsty in games like this, but he’s terrible at spinning.

girlfriday: They come out of the spin and Seung-woo falls, but manages to grab a hammer. Tae-hyun is upright, but goes in the wrong direction, so Seung-woo grabs the other hammer and chucks it like a mile away. HAHAHAHA.

javabeans: Hee! I love how he thinks so deviously. Tae-hyun scrambles by after the hammer, but Seung-woo grabs him by the jacket and thwacks.

girlfriday: His little victory hand-raise while flinging his hammer into the air is so cute.

javabeans: But wait! Tae-hyun got hit on the hand, not the head, and the PD confirms it. So Tae-hyun agrees to go again, if he can pick his competitor: Jong-min. By now it’s his catchphrase: “I did gymnastics!” And again, they suggest 20 spins. Oh, this should be good.

girlfriday: They look like they’re swimming. But there’s no water. They spin and flail and fall all over the place, but this time Tae-hyun is the bloodthirsty one.

javabeans: Tae-hyun gets him on the ground and gets in a thwack. And another. And another. HAHA. Is he getting out his earlier car-chase aggression?

girlfriday: It totally devolves into whack-a-mole. I love Su-geun’s idea of therapy: he just spins Tae-hyun the other way, to neutralize the dizzy.

javabeans: Inside, they’re briefed on morning mission, which is one of their simpler ones. They all get rice… but depending on when you arrive at breakfast, you might not get ingredients to make bibimbap. They ask how many people it’ll feed, and the PD answers, “It’s a little lacking.” Ha. Be prepared to race, boys.

girlfriday: Tae-hyun gets a birthday present from his fans, and that starts them on a discussion of what their fanclubs are called. Seung-woo: “Mine’s called Milky Boy.” Pwahahahaha. Even he acknowledges how funny it is, but it got started when he was much younger, and had pretty boy skin.

javabeans: Hahaha. This is such a weird star thing to do: “What’s your fan club named?” Tae-woong’s is the coolest, and gets a murmur of appreciation: PremiUM. When they get to Shi-kyung, he prefaces it by saying his isn’t that funny: “Purple Ocean.” Seung-woo immediately quips, “Time for bed.” Like it puts him to sleep? Aw.

girlfriday: Haha, Milky Boy’s got good timing.

javabeans: In the morning, most of the guys are up early—looks like they really want breakfast. They cradle their rice bowls, shoes on, and wait for the song, to set them off on the race. We get to see the tiny, tiny dishes at the breakfast table, which look pretty pathetic.

girlfriday: There’s two eggs. I’d go straight for those, and the sauces. The music starts, and off they go. Tae-hyun is first, but then Shi-kyung catches up and pulls him back into second. Ha. Along with Joo-won in third, the three of them get most of the ingredients off the table, while Jong-min and Seung-woo trail behind to scrape the plates.

javabeans: Are Tae-woong and Su-geun just going to be eating cold white rice?

girlfriday: Pretty much. Tae-woong finally arrives in a sleepy stupor, and starts eating his plain rice. Tae-hyun sweetly gives him some egg, which he mixes in happily. And then Su-geun trails in last and munches on his cold rice with a sigh.

javabeans: Breakfast is followed by a hike up a mountain trail, ending at a house where poet-scholar Jung Yak-yong once taught. (He’s one of the area’s famous historical figures; Jong-min’s tea-shop task was also connected to him.)

girlfriday: They end in a grove of camellia trees, and sit around making whistles out of blades of grass, like little kids.

javabeans: Seems appropriate, given I think they all regressed about two decades (and in some cases, three) for this episode.

girlfriday: Which is how we like it. Note: the next two weeks won’t have new episodes due to the strike, so we’ll play it by ear as far as recaps go, depending on what they air.

Actor of the moment Kim Soo Hyun was named Best Actor of the Year on Thursday at the Paeksang Arts Awards, which took place at Olympic Hall in Jamsil, eastern Seoul.

But Kim wasn’t all smiles after his win, which recognized his performance in the hit drama “The Moon Embracing the Sun.”

“I’m so grateful for the award, but on the other hand, it feels like I’ve just been given a hefty amount of homework,” he said. “I’ll keep trying to become a better actor in order to remain worthy of this award.”

Kim has only been active in the industry for five years, and contestants who lost to him include some of the most esteemed actors in Korea. Park Si Hoo from “Princess’s Man,” Shin Ha Gyun from “Brain” and Cha Seung Won from “The Greatest Love” were among the nominees. The fact that these actors lost to the 24-year-old newbie was a topic of much debate among entertainment industry insiders. Kim has skyrocketed to fame since his appearance in the hit drama, with companies here and abroad vying for his endorsement.

Korean actress Jang Nara and her father attended a press conference in China on Thursday to promote the Chinese drama in which both actors have starred.

The father and daughter pair attended the event for the drama “Race Course” at a hotel in Tsingtao where they were greeted by throngs of press.

Jang told journalists that it was hard work filming and that she hopes her dedication will pay off.

“I remember one time it was the middle of winter and I had to dive into the ocean. It was challenging, but I worked hard on it and I hope the fans will like it,” the 31-year-old actress said.

Earlier in the month, Jang and her father, Ju Ho Sung, attended another press conference in Beijing to promote the Chinese drama that began airing on April 11 on CCTV.

The drama is set in the days of the Qing Dynasty and tells the tale of a group of Chinese citizens who resisted foreign invasion and prevailed against exploitation and cruelty by competing at the race track. The show is also set to air in Korea later this year.

F.CUZ is currently making their comeback after a long hiatus. They are promoting their song "No.1" at the moment.

Meanwhile, here's the practice video version of their choreography.
Watch below:

S.M Entertainment’s new boy group EXO-M, who has only debuted for 26 days, showed off how popular they are at ChangSha yesterday. EXO-M, along with Show Luo (Weibo) filmed for <Happy Camp((Weibo)> last night, attracting a lot of fans to the site to chase after their idols. Those who sold scalped tickets to the fans witnessed how popular they are, saying that “Tickets (sold) were one of the most expensive ever; it was not even this expensive when Lee Minho came last year.” One of the members of EXO-M, Lay, who is from ChangSha was particularly happy that he is returning home. “I am always homesick, thus felt much honored that I can film a program back at home.” Reporter: Gong Yi Qun, Reporting from ChangSha, Fan
A mother from Taiwan: It will be hard to catch them live if they are this popular nowEXO-M officially announced their debut on 1st of April in BeiJing. Although they have only debuted for less than a month, they have already gathered loads of popularity. After knowing that EXO-M is coming to ChangSha to film a program, EXO-M’s Baidu Tieba was even more ebullience. EXO-M attracted also a lot of fans to welcome them at the airport when they arrived in ChangSha from Korea.
A large amount of fans gathered outside the building of Hunan broadcasting station yesterday even before 3pm. Some fans also claim that “Numerous fans from Russia, Malaysia and Taiwan actually rushed here.” Madam Lu, born in the 60s was one of the fans who rushed to ChangSha from Taiwan the day before. She said, “They will have a promising future since they are now S.M’s best new boy group.” And one of her favorite members in the group is actually Lay who is from ChangSha, she felt that (guys) “like her son’s age are very hardworking”, when asked why did she rushed to ChangSha to watch them film the program, Madam Lu said that “It will be hard to catch them live if they are this popular now.”
Tickets
It was still hard to get a ticket when prices of scalped tickets was as high as 1600 (Approximately 254USD)
EXO-M’s popularity can be seen from the prices of the tickets, although tickets to <happy camp=""> were never sold to people, some scalper will always have a way to get tickets from the audiences. Scalpers were already selling tickets at high prices at 3pm yesterday, 5 hours before the recording started. Prices of the tickets were between 1200yuan (approx. 190USD) to 1600yuan (approx. 254USD) when some reporters went forward to ask. One of the scalpers was exceptionally excited, “Because of EXO and Show Luo, tickets sold today was the most expensive ever since the program started.” He/She also further explained, “Korean artists are pretty good (when it comes to selling tickets), it was pretty hot for HanGeng (Weibo) in the past, and also Lee Minho from last year, however if compared, EXO is even better.”

Although a ticket to a program is comparable to a VIP ticket to a concert, due to the little amount of tickets, fans of EXO-M can still be seen willing to pay 1500yuan (approx. 238USD) for a ticket at 6pm in the evening. But the problem is – they cannot get the tickets on hand.
Strict management, studio was cleared during rehearsalIt has been known to everyone that S.M Entertainment have strict managements to their artistes, it was also the same for EXO-M this time round when coming to ChangSha.EXO-M arrived at ChangSha HuangHua International Airport at 7pm the day before, but only came out at 8pm. Fans guessed that the reason behind this is because it was a long flight and they had to do some grooming before coming out. At around 5pm yesterday, all 6 members of EXO-M arrived at the studio and started rehearsing. People who are not part of production team were all sent out. According to the production team, it was because S.M requested that the studio should be cleared when rehearsing.
“It was honored to return home to film a program”There is a face which ChangSha people are very familiar of in this new group, and that is 2005’s Hunan JingShi <Superstar Academy> 3rd place winner, Lay. After training so hard in Korea, Lay specially introduced himself saying that “I am from ChangSha” when he returned home this time to film a program to the reporters. He also said, “I have been homesick during the period in Korea and thus felt much honored that I can return home to film a program.” Madam Zhang also said, “He felt homesick over there (at Korea), we are also missing him every at home (in ChangSha).” However, Lay was not able to return back to his house when he returns home this time. He said, “(I) have already called my family, but I do not have time to return home.”

Kim Shinyoung and Suzy gained the nickname "Awkward Couple" as they have no more than 3 minutes of conversation.
In the upcoming episode of KBS 2TV's Invincible Youth 2, Kim Shinyoung admitted that it was hard to have a conversation with Suzy's four dimension personality. Especially when she has a very special intellectual way to make a conversation.
Kim Shinyoung is the newest MC of the show, and she gets along with every member well. Except one person - Suzy. She shared, "I've known the other members, but this is my first time meeting miss A's Suzy and it's very awkward."
On the April 28th episode, they had to do a mission that requires two people as a couple. It was a friendly race between the cast, but Kim Shinyoung was partnered up with Suzy which made everyone laugh.
Kim Shinyoung admitted the reason behind their awkwardness. "Suzy has her own unique way of making a conversation." Upon hearing this Suzy explained, "I'm good at making a metaphor and I have a third eye. For Example, when I see blue clothes, I metaphor it, and say "It's a spinach."
Frustrated as Kim Shinyoung might seem, she commented, "Do you think 'Like a spinach' is good as a metaphor? Because of the way Suzy makes a conversation, it's hard to make a conversation with her more than 3 minutes. Suzy is difficult, I must learn more about Suzy in the future."
Whether this "Awkward Couple" is getting closer, everything will be revealed on April 28th at 5:15 PM.

On April 26th, Girls’ Generation’s Jessica attended the opening of a new Burberry store in “Taipei 101″, a skyscraper and an icon of Taiwan. This was the second Burberry event in which Girls’ Generation has participated, after Tiffany, Yoona and Seohyun flew to London as Korea’s representatives for the “2012 F/W Burberry Prorsum Fashion Show” in February earlier this year. Christopher Bailey, Burberry’s creative managing director who personally invited Tiffany, Yoona and Seohyun to London, also thanked Jessica with a hard-written note, which read, “Dear Jessica – Welcome to Taipei!!! So pleased you can join us on Thursday + really looking forward to see you. All my best, Christopher.”

Along with other global stars such as Daniel Henney and Jolin Tsai, Jessica attended a short media photo session at the store opening in which she revealed that she has been working on Girls’ Generation’s next Japanese album and getting lots of rest. She also promised to return to Taiwan in the future with the other members of Girls’ Generation. At the photo session, Jessica had the chance to take photos with Daniel Henney, who she once admitted is her ideal type of man.

Daniel Henney later tweeted a photo of himself with Jessica, saying “Great event last night! Had fun w/Jessica from snsd…” Jessica then also posted a similar photo and a message on Girls’ Generation’s official website. Idol group U-Kiss (KiSeop, SooHyun, DongHo, Eli, Kevin, AJ, Hoon) has returned!

During their last six months in Japan, U-KISS released an album, ‘A Shared Dream’, and single, ‘Forbidden Love’. They placed second and fifth on the Oricon charts, respectively. The group toured under their ‘First Japan Live Tour 2012’ throughout March in cities such as Tokyo, Osaka, Fukuoka and more with successful results. They’ve grown significantly from a popular group to hallyu stars. The pressure and burden to do well in domestic activities has increased. During their time away, several new idol groups have debuted in Korea. Whilst U-KISS was immersed with their foreign activities, many fans had left the fandom. U-KISS expressed with sighs, “It is true that we’re nervous. We heard some fans left us”. But they also added confidently, “We can win them back. During our stay in Japan, we’ve grown a lot”.

> We heard you were extremely successful in Japan.
KiSeop: Rather than saying we hit the jackpot, it was more of a medium-sized success. After placing 2nd on the Oricon chart, we finally felt some sense of popularity. Our Japanese agency, AVEX, complimented us on our ‘fast progression’. I was most happy when I saw the growth of our popularity with the number of fans.

> If you had a concert now, how many seats could you fill?
SooHyun: If we were in Tokyo, we would be able to fill Super Arena (T/N: Approx. 37,000 seats). In other provinces, we heard we filled around 3,500 seats. In July, we’re preparing for additional tour dates in nine cities. It’s about 3,500 seats each, which total up to 45,000 seats. That’s our goal.

- What appeals to Japanese fans the most?
DongHo: Japanese fans like to enjoy watch their artist from afar. We approached them with a friendly manner, to a point where intimacy was used. After a concert ends, we would individually approach fans and shake hands with each one of them. We’d have eye contact and talk to them too. This is different to how other Japanese artists approach their fans, so rather than friends, we receive compliments of being like family.

- What are your future plans for overseas activities?
Kevin: First off, on the 10th of next month, we’ll be heading to Colombia. We’ll be attending a music festival there as the Asia representatives. We’ll be on stage alongside Ricky Martin, Shakira, and Pitbull. The fact that Colombian fans are awaiting our performance is very exciting. I want to see Shakira’s hip dance. I also plan to visit her backstage room and take a sel-ca with her, haha.

- Recently, in Korea, several new idol groups have emerged.
AJ: The standards of skills and image increases everyday with idol groups. We are nervous. We heard some of our fans left us for other groups, but we’ll just get them back. Our shows in Japan helped us grow. We can use this growth to show how much better we’ve become.

- Kim HyungSuk worked and composed songs on your new album.
SooHyun: He’s a composer famous for his ballads, so we wondered what it would be like if he worked with dance music. Being one of the best composers, he does things differently. He gave us songs that showcase our manly image, but were also addictive. He came to our Japanese concert to evaluate our skills and style, and he carefully crafted the concept for us. We’re extremely grateful towards him.

- What kind of song is the title track, ‘DORADORA’?
SooHyun: It’s built around being sexy. Our expressions are all towards being sexy. We prepared sheer, red clothing for our performances. Sheer material with a red costume. We listened to over 100 potential tracks in Japan. We were really involved with the entire process because it’s an important album. It is the song that we’ve personally selected.

- We heard your ‘Girlfriend Ban’ was lifted!
Hoon: Our representatives told us, “You can have a girlfriend. Just don’t get caught!”. Haha, now that we’ve been told that, it’s hard for us too. As idols, we’re on the unpopular side. How sad. We received nothing amongst a popular boy group vote. I love Son YeonJae, Park HaSeon noonas. And I also like Han JiMin sunbae!

- We’re coming into your fifth year since your debut. What do you think you’ll be like at your 10th anniversary?
DongHo: We’ll release a 10th anniversary album first, and then it’ll lead to a world tour. Starting in Seoul, we’ll take one year to perform all over the world. That would be amazing. I want to become like Shinhwa sunbaes. After their recent comeback, I was brought to tears and had goosebumps.

- What are your dreams for this year?
Eli: We’d like to achieve number one on a music program! Also, like ‘ManManHaNi’ and ‘BingeulBingeul’, we want our song to be well known for how they are addictive and fun.
