Comedienne Kang Yu Mi appeared on YTN’s “News and Issue - Issue and People” on May 23 along with fellow entertainer Ahn Young Mi.

On the news program, Kang opened up about having undergone jaw realignment surgery in a bid to be embraced as a beautiful comedienne.

“It was so painful. I definitely won’t be going through that again,” said Kang who did add that her new face has given her a new lease on life.

“These days I’ve been approached to shoot wedding pictorials as well as a shoot for a men’s magazine. I feel so fulfilled as a woman,” Kang said.

Meanwhile, the fact that Kang had plastic surgery was made public back in December when the clinic where she underwent surgery posted a picture of the entertainer with her surgeon.

On Dec. 10, ID Hospital’s Web site featured a picture of the celebrity taken with the hospital’s director, Dr. Park Sang Hoon. The hospital is renowned in the field of facial bone reconstruction, especially for correction of protruding jaws. The caption under the picture read, “Kang Yu Mi stopped by the hospital upon her return from the U.S. for a checkup on her mouth protrusion surgery.”

The post also thanked Kang for choosing the clinic over other competitors.
