SM Entertainment chairman and founder, Lee Soo Man was awarded with ‘Culture Award’ by The Korea Society in New York.

On June 4th, Lee Soo Man was handed the ‘Culture Award’ at the ‘The Korea Society’s 55th Anniversary Celebration New York Gala Dinner’ held at the Plaza Hotel in New York. Lee Soo Man was honored for his influence in spreading K-Pop and Korean culture in the States through his background in ‘Culture Technology’.

During his acceptance speech, Lee Soo Man remarked, “Focusing on the catch phrase ‘Culture First, Economy Next’, I’ve been pushing this business forward with a belief that the ripple effect of culture will naturally influence the economy to grow.”

Other honorable figures that attended the event included AIG CEO Bob Benmosche, chairman of the Korea International Trade Association Han Duk Soo, and former prime minister Jung Woon Chan.
